Adriano Goldschmied, our beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in Italy in 1944, Adriano brought joy, creativity, and laughter to everyone who knew him. He had a gift for making people feel special, always remembering your favorite coffee order or asking about your family with genuine interest. His warm smile and quick wit could light up any room, and his hugs were legendary—he never let you leave without one. Adriano's passion for denim wasn't just about fashion; it was about storytelling. He believed that every pair of jeans carried a story, and he spent his life helping people write theirs. As the founder of Diesel and creator of Replay, Gap 1969, Agolde, Goldsign, and AG Adriano Goldschmied, he revolutionized the industry and earned his title as the Godfather of Denim. But what he loved most was the creative process—the thrill of designing something new, the joy of seeing his ideas come to life. He was endlessly curious, always experimenting with fabrics and textures, and his innovative spirit inspired everyone around him. Family was everything to Adriano. He adored his wife, Maria, his children, and his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
