It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alexander Morton, born January 1st, 1945, and peacefully departed this life on April 16th, 2026. Alex, as we all knew him, was a man who lived a life filled with warmth, wit, and a deep appreciation for the simple things. I’ll always remember his infectious laugh, that booming chuckle that could fill a room, and his unwavering kindness. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, a quality that touched so many lives. He wasn’t just an actor; he was a storyteller, bringing characters to life with a sincerity that resonated deeply. While his work as a Scottish actor, particularly his memorable role as Golly Mackenzie in *Monarch of the Glen*, brought him recognition, Alex’s true joy came from the connections he made with people. He cherished his family above all else. And he’ll be dearly missed by all his nieces, nephews, and extended family. Alex found solace and contentment in the beauty of the Scottish Highlands, often spending his free time exploring the landscapes he so loved – hiking, fishing, and simply soaking in the peace.
