Aron Stewart

January 1, 1951 - March 6, 2026 (Age 75)

It’s hard to believe we’re saying goodbye to Aron. November 17th, 1950, brought a spark of incredible energy into the world, and that energy never dimmed, not even until the very end. I’ll always remember Aron as a whirlwind of enthusiasm – a guy who could light up a room just by walking into it. He had this infectious laugh, a booming, genuine sound that just made you feel instantly happier. Of course, we all knew about his basketball career – that incredible run at Richmond, those record-breaking points, the Southern Conference Player of the Year award. But for me, and I think for so many who knew him, it was so much more than just the stats. It was about the sheer determination, the unwavering focus, and the joy he found on the court. I remember him telling me stories about those Richmond days, not boasting about his achievements, but genuinely excited to share the camaraderie and the passion of the team. Aron was the kindest, most loyal soul. He adored his family – his wife, Sarah, was his rock, and their kids, Emily and David, were the center of his world. He’d spend hours building elaborate Lego castles with David, patiently explaining the rules of basketball to Emily, and always, always making time for Sarah, showering her with love and support. He wasn’t one for grand gestures, but his love was a quiet, constant warmth, a steady presence that made everyone around him feel cherished. He had this amazing ability to make you feel like the most important person in the room, and he did that for everyone. Beyond basketball, Aron was a true enthusiast. He loved old movies, could quote lines from practically anything, and had an encyclopedic knowledge of classic rock. He spent countless hours tinkering in his garage, building and fixing things – a testament to his practical mind and his love of a good challenge. But more than anything, he loved people. He volunteered at the local soup kitchen, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. He had this way of making you feel seen, heard, and valued. Aron’s impact on those who knew him was profound. He taught us the importance of passion, loyalty, and kindness. He reminded us to find joy in the simple things and to always, always laugh. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a whole lot of unforgettable memories. We’ll miss you terribly, Aron. Rest easy.
