Born on January 1st, 1963, Borislav lived a life that was both remarkable and deeply human. Many will remember him for his stellar career as a goalkeeper, both for PFC Levski Sofia and the Bulgaria national team. But beyond the roar of the crowd and the thrill of the game, Borislav was defined by his integrity, his fierce loyalty, and his genuine love for the sport. I’ll always cherish the memory of him recounting incredible moments from his playing days, his eyes twinkling with excitement, but always with a self-deprecating humor that made everyone around him smile. His tenure as President of the Bulgarian Football Union, spanning two significant periods, speaks volumes about his leadership and his unwavering dedication to the development of the game in Bulgaria.
