Cerina Fairfax

January 1, 1977 - April 17, 2026 (Age 49)

Cerina Fairfax was the kind of person who made everyone feel like family the moment they met her. Born on February 24, 1977, Cerina grew up with a heart as big as her smile and a laugh that could light up any room. She had this remarkable way of making the ordinary feel extraordinary - whether she was baking her famous chocolate chip cookies (never quite following the recipe, but always better for it) or spending hours in her garden, talking to her tomatoes like they were old friends. As a dentist, Cerina brought her warmth and genuine care to every patient who sat in her chair. She believed that a trip to the dentist shouldn't be something to dread, and she'd often tell her young patients stories about "Mr. Cavity" to make them laugh through their cleanings. Her colleagues admired her not just for her skill, but for her ability to make everyone around her feel valued and heard. When she became Second Lady of Virginia from 2018 to 2022, she approached her role with the same authenticity that defined her - never losing sight of what mattered most: people. But if you asked anyone who knew Cerina what her greatest accomplishment was, they'd tell you it was her family. Her love for her husband Justin was the kind of love that made everyone around them believe in soulmates. They were partners in every sense of the word, supporting each other's dreams while building a life filled with inside jokes, spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen, and the kind of deep conversations that lasted until sunrise. Cerina was the kind of mother who would stay up all night helping with a school project, not because she had to, but because she wanted to be part of every moment of her children's lives. Cerina found joy in the simple things - Sunday morning coffee on the porch, road trips with terrible singing, and making everyone feel welcome in her home. She had this incredible gift of making each person she met feel like they were the most important person in the world in that moment. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the smiles she created, and the love she so freely gave. The world was brighter with Cerina in it, and though she's no longer with us, her spirit, her laughter, and her love will continue to inspire all of us who were lucky enough to know her. She left us on April 16, 2026, but she'll never truly be gone - she's in every act of kindness, every shared laugh, and every moment when we choose love over everything else, just as she always did.
