Christos Valavanidis

January 1, 1945 - March 8, 2026 (Age 81)

Christos Valavanidis, our beloved father, grandfather, and partner, left us on March 8th, 2026, at the age of 81. He lived a life as rich and vibrant as the characters he brought to life on screen and the verses he poured onto paper. Born on May 21st, 1944, he carried the spirit of Greece in his soul and shared it generously with everyone lucky enough to know him. He wasn't just an actor; he was a storyteller who breathed life into every role, from the weary poet in *The Wretches Are Still Singing* to the bewildered soul in *Loafing and Camouflage*, and the deeply human figure in *Crying... Silicon Tears*. But it was his poetry that truly revealed the depth of his heart. He could recite lines from his own work with a passion that could silence a room, or he'd gently share a freshly penned verse, his eyes alight with the joy of creation. Remember how he'd sometimes surprise us with a poem scribbled on a napkin? His words had a way of capturing the quiet beauty and profound sadness of life itself. His greatest roles, however, were played off-screen. He was the rock of our family. His laughter was infectious, often erupting unexpectedly during dinner, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He had this unique talent for making everyone feel seen and heard, whether he was listening intently to a grandchild's tale or offering a quiet word of wisdom. He adored his garden, finding peace tending to his plants, and his cooking – oh, his cooking! He'd spend hours perfecting a dish, insisting it was "just for us," filling the house with the most wonderful aromas. He found pure joy in those simple moments, sharing them with the people he loved most. Christos touched countless lives. He inspired fellow actors with his dedication, comforted friends
