Connie A. Redd-Boyd

Connie A. Redd-Boyd, born June 22, 1988, in Jackson, Mississippi, died in the arms of her beloved husband, on August 25, 2026, at the age of 38. She was a quiet storm—someone who didn't always show her emotions, but when she did, everybody felt her from miles away. Her raspy, cool voice carried warmth and charisma, and her hugs had a way of melting all your worries away. Connie was a homemaker through and through. She poured herself into caring for her home, her children, and her husband, Derrick Boyd. She held an associate degree from Hinds Community College and pursued further study in Elementary Education at Jackson State University. Her work life reflected her giving nature: she spent over four years at the De Beukelaer Cookie Factory, progressed to Machine Operator at Continental after two years, and then transitioned to work as a Home Health Aide with Southern Health Care in 2023. By 2024, she had committed fully to home health care, a calling that aligned perfectly with her instinct to care for others. She loved to work—it was her favorite pastime. Beyond her professional life, Connie found joy in reading, singing (whether she could hold a note or not), cooking, traveling, event planning, and going to church. She had a gift for making things work, for "making it do what it do," as she would say. She was giving and kindhearted, resilient in ways both visible and quiet. She loved to laugh, loved her family deeply, and spent time with friends whenever she could. When Connie forgave someone, she never brought up the fault again—a kind of grace that defined her. Connie is survived by her husband, Derrick Boyd; her three children, Conner De'Paul Thompson, Carleigh Reagan Boyd, and Demi Marie Boyd; and her siblings, Larry Ward, Timothy Ward, Kim Redd, Meghan Phillips, and Amanda Marie Bilbrew. She was preceded in death by her brother, James (Johnnie) Ward Jr., her father, Commiedore Hart, and her mother Paula Dean Redd. Connie gave her life to Christ through baptism at an early age. In her adult life she gave her life back to Christ and attended services at The Exodus Assembly and later on, at Jackson Revival Center. Connie acknowledged our Lord Jesus Christ as Lord of her life throughout her life and knew him as Lord even in the end of her Earthly life. Until we meet again..
