Cristian Camilo Muñoz
January 1, 1996 - April 25, 2026 (Age 30)
Cristian Camilo Muñoz Lancheros taught us how to greet mornings like old friends, with a grin and a promise to make the day count. Born with Colombia stitched into his spirit, he carried the mountains with him even when the roads flattened out. I’ll never forget him coasting into our kitchen after a dawn ride, shoes scuffed and cheeks flushed, spinning tales about fog lifting off valleys and the way a good laugh could outpace any uphill. He had this habit of humming while he cooked, teasing that a little music kept the rice from burning, and somehow it always did. Life with Cristian felt like riding with the wind at your back: lighter, brighter, and full of possibility.
Family was his truest compass, and he returned to it again and again, no matter how far the race took him. He adored his parents for their steady hands and stubborn hope, and he doted on his siblings, turning ordinary nights into feasts of stories and teasing plans that somehow came true. With partners and friends, he was generous in the soft ways—remembering birthdays, saving the last arepa, showing up with a toolkit and a joke when someone’s world rattled. He believed love was less about grand gestures and more about showing up, again and again, with clean socks and an open heart.
On two wheels, Cristian found a language that let him whisper to the sky. He loved the hush before a climb, the chatter of tires on wet roads, and the way a pack could stitch itself into one breathing thing chasing a horizon. Coffee breaks turned into friendships, and every hill taught him patience; he gave that gift back tenfold to younger riders who felt too much and rushed too fast. He raced not to conquer but to belong, to share Colombia’s curves and colors with anyone willing to pedal alongside him.
Cristian left us too soon after a fall that stole his breath but never his light. We will miss his steady cadence, yet we carry him forward—in every climb we dare to try, in every table heaped with love, and in the certainty that joy, like a good ride, is meant to be shared. Rest easy, Camilo; your wheels keep turning in all of us.
