It is with shattered hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved Csaba Siklós. To the world, he was a dedicated public servant, a Minister and a Member of Parliament who helped steer Hungary through a pivotal moment in its history. But to us, he was simply Uncle Csaba—the man with the crinkly-eyed smile, the voice that could tell a story for hours, and the hands that were just as comfortable holding a grandchild as they were a parliamentary report. I’ll never forget the pride in his eyes when he’d talk about the infrastructure projects he shepherded, not as political wins, but as “roads and bridges that would connect families for generations.” He saw the human story in every policy.
Csaba’s true legacy was built not in the chambers of the National Assembly, but around his kitchen table, laden with his wife Éva’s incredible cooking. Theirs was a love story for the ages—a partnership of quiet strength and unwavering support for over fifty years. He was a father who showed up, a grandfather whose lap was a fortress of comfort, and an uncle who remembered everyone’s birthday and always had a pocketful of sweets.
