Dick was a truly remarkable man, a man of unwavering spirit and boundless enthusiasm, and he touched so many lives with his warmth and generosity. He lived a life filled with passion – for football, for teaching, and for the people he loved. I can still picture him, a mischievous twinkle in his eye, telling stories of his days as a defensive back for the San Diego Chargers, always exaggerating just a little for effect! And then there was the quiet pride he carried, the deep satisfaction etched on his face, when he’d talk about his incredible career coaching at Williams College.
