Duško Vujošević

January 1, 1959 - April 10, 2026 (Age 67)

It is with heavy hearts, but a profound sense of gratitude, that we say goodbye to Duško Vujošević, who left us on April 8, 2026. To the world, Duško was a titan of the basketball court, a mastermind of the game, and a fierce competitor. But to those of us who knew him beyond the sidelines, he was a man of immense passion, unwavering loyalty, and a heart that beat for his loved ones and his craft with an intensity that was truly rare. Duško lived his life with a fire that was contagious. Whether he was leading Partizan Belgrade to historic victories or mentoring young players in Brescia and with the Bosnia national team, he didn't just coach basketball—he taught life. He believed in discipline, excellence, and the courage to strive for more. We will always cherish the memories of his legendary intensity; he could be the toughest critic in the room, but it always came from a place of deep love and a desire to see everyone around him reach their highest potential. When the whistles stopped and the lights dimmed, that fire softened into a warmth and wisdom that guided so many of us through our own struggles. Beyond the trophies and the twenty-three titles, Duško’s greatest joy was found in the quiet moments with his family. He loved deeply and protected his own with a fierce devotion. Despite the health battles with his heart and kidneys that tested his strength in later years, his spirit never wavered. He faced every challenge with the same grit he demanded from his players, reminding us all that resilience is the true measure of a person. He found happiness in the simple things—a good conversation, the laughter of his children, and the enduring bonds of friendship. Duško’s impact stretches far beyond the scoreboards. He shaped generations of athletes and left an indelible mark on the soul of Serbian and Montenegrin sports. He taught us that nothing worth having comes without hard work and that passion is the only way to truly live. We will miss his voice, his strength, and his unmatched presence, but we take comfort in knowing he is finally at peace. Rest well, Duško. You played the game of life with everything you had, and we are all better for having known you.
