Epeli was a man of profound integrity and grace, a true embodiment of Fijian values. He always had time for a kind word, a listening ear, and a gentle laugh that could fill a room. I remember countless evenings spent sharing stories and laughter with him, often over a cup of coffee, where he’d recount tales from his distinguished career in the military and in service to Fiji. He wasn't one for grand pronouncements, but his actions spoke volumes about his commitment to fairness, justice, and the well-being of his people. Epeli’s life was a testament to service. From his distinguished career as a military officer and his long tenure in Fijian politics – serving as Speaker of the House and President – he dedicated himself to building a stronger, more prosperous Fiji.
