Evelyn Mae Sutton

Evelyn Mae Sutton, 90, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away on February 8, 2026. Born in Madison County, Evelyn carried the mountain spirit with her throughout her life, raising a family and building a home filled with music and warmth. She sang in the church choir for more than five decades and volunteered with the Asheville VA Medical Center, where her kindness was a comfort to many. Evelyn is survived by her children, Sarah Sutton-Pearson and Michael Sutton; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren who knew her as "Mamaw Evie."
