Born on January 1st, 1942, Geoff lived a life filled with passion, laughter, and a genuine warmth that touched everyone he met. For those of us lucky enough to call him friend, brother, uncle, or simply someone special, the world feels a little dimmer without his presence. Geoff wasn't one for grand pronouncements, but he had a quiet strength and a mischievous twinkle in his eye that hinted at the adventures he’d lived. I’ll always remember the time at the pub when… well, let’s just say it involved a rather spirited rendition of a sea shanty and a surprisingly impressive impression of a seagull! That was Geoff – always ready for a bit of fun and a good story. Geoff's life was intertwined with the beautiful game. A talented forward who graced the pitches of Birmingham City, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest, he wasn’t just a player; he was a part of the history of those clubs. He spoke with such fondness of his time with each team, remembering not just the goals scored, but the camaraderie, the shared triumphs and the unwavering spirit of the players and fans. But beyond the football, Geoff’s greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted brother, a loving uncle, and a cherished friend to so many. He always made time for a phone call, a visit, or a helping hand, offering advice with a kind smile and a gentle nudge. His family was his anchor, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He possessed a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. He listened intently, offered unwavering support, and never hesitated to share a comforting word or a hearty laugh. Geoff had a deep appreciation for simple pleasures – a good book, a walk in the countryside, and the company of those he loved. He cultivated friendships that spanned decades, built on trust, loyalty, and shared memories.
