Gerda Antti

Gerda Antti left this world on March 6, 2026, at the age of 96, but her spirit of warmth, creativity, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a woman of many talents—a gifted writer, a dedicated public servant, and above all, a loving wife, mother, and friend. Gerda found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life: a good book by the fire, a walk in the woods, or a lively conversation over coffee. She married Walter Ljungquist in 1955, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Though Walter passed away in 1974, Gerda carried his memory with her always, and her family remained her anchor. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always ready with a kind word, a listening ear, or a homemade treat to brighten someone’s day. As a writer, Gerda had a way with words that could capture the beauty of everyday moments and the depth of human emotion. Her stories, often inspired by her own life and the world around her, touched many hearts. Beyond her writing, Gerda was deeply committed to her community, serving as a local lay assessor and a member of the Centre Party.
