Our home was his sanctuary, filled with the laughter of his children and grandchildren. He was the anchor, the patient listener, the man who could fix a toy with the same meticulous care he used to restore a medieval manuscript. Sunday dinners were a ritual, where his stories from academia would mingle with gentle teasing and the clink of plates.
