Jacek Magiera

January 1, 1977 - April 10, 2026 (Age 49)

It’s hard to believe we’re saying goodbye to Jacek. January 1st, 1977 to April 10th, 2026 – it just doesn’t feel like enough time with a man who lived so fully. I keep picturing him with that mischievous grin, always ready with a joke or a story, usually involving some incredible football feat, either his own or one he’d witnessed. He wasn’t just passionate about the game, it was woven into the very fabric of who he was. From his early days winning with the Poland U16 team, to those glorious years with Legia Warsaw – winning the Ekstraklasa, the Polish Cup, all of it – he poured his heart and soul into everything he did on the pitch. And even after hanging up his boots, that fire just translated into coaching, helping others find their own passion for the beautiful game. But Jacek was so much more than football. He was a devoted son, a loving brother, and the most incredible friend anyone could ask for. He always put his family first, and spoke about them with such pride. I remember countless evenings spent at his place, filled with laughter, good food (he made a mean pierogi, let me tell you!), and stories about his nieces and nephews – he absolutely adored those kids. He had this way of making everyone feel seen and valued, like you were the most important person in the room. He’d remember the smallest details about your life, always offering a listening ear or a helping hand, no matter what. He truly thrived when he was sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm. Whether he was meticulously analyzing a game, crafting a training session, or simply explaining the offside rule to a confused newcomer, his dedication was inspiring. He had a gift for bringing out the best in people, not just as players, but as individuals. He wasn’t afraid to push you, to challenge you, but always with a genuine belief in your potential. So many young players owe their careers, and more importantly, their confidence, to Jacek’s guidance. The world feels a little quieter, a little less bright without him. We’ll miss his infectious laugh, his unwavering optimism, and his huge heart. Jacek, you left an indelible mark on everyone who knew you. You lived a life filled with passion, purpose, and love, and that’s a legacy worth celebrating. Rest in peace, my friend. We’ll never forget you.
