But to those of us who loved him, he was so much more – a devoted husband, a loving father, a mischievous grandfather, and a friend who always had a twinkle in his eye and a story to tell. I’ll always remember him meticulously polishing his footballs as a boy, a sign of the deep respect he held for the game that would shape so much of his life. He wasn't one for grand pronouncements, but his actions spoke volumes; he led with integrity and a genuine desire to see the sport thrive.
