January 1, 1949 - April 15, 2026 (Age 77)

It’s hard to believe we’re saying goodbye to Jack. January 1st, 1949, brought a whole lot of joy into this world, and he carried that joy with him every single day until April 15th, 2026. I still remember when my dad first told me about playing for the Cowboys – he’d light up, recounting those incredible moments with such infectious enthusiasm. He wasn’t just a football player; he was a force of nature, a whirlwind of energy and a genuinely good man. We’d spend hours as a kid, glued to the television, yelling at the referees and celebrating every touchdown as if it were our own. He taught me the importance of grit, teamwork, and never giving up, lessons that have stayed with me throughout my life. Jack was the heart of our family. He adored Mom and his two girls, Sarah and Emily, and we were all so incredibly lucky to have him. He was the kind of dad who built elaborate Lego castles with us, patiently explained the rules of every board game, and always, always had a silly joke ready. He wasn’t one for grand gestures, but his love was expressed in the small, consistent ways – a perfectly timed hug, a listening ear, and a quiet presence that made you feel utterly safe and cherished. He had this incredible ability to make everyone around him feel seen and valued. And let’s be honest, his terrible singing voice at family karaoke nights was legendary – we’d all groan, but secretly, we loved it. Beyond football, Jack had a real passion for woodworking. His workshop was his sanctuary, filled with the scent of sawdust and the satisfying sounds of tools. He built beautiful, intricate pieces – rocking chairs, bookshelves, even a stunning grandfather clock – each one a testament to his patience and skill. He found immense satisfaction in creating something tangible with his own hands, and he generously shared his talents, teaching anyone who was interested. He also loved gardening, spending hours tending to his roses, and always had a fresh bouquet for Mom. Jack’s impact on those who knew him was profound. He was a loyal friend, a devoted family man, and a truly kind soul. He had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a reminder to live each day to the fullest. We’ll miss his booming laugh, his warm hugs, and his unwavering spirit more than words can say. Rest in peace, my dear Jack.
