Jon Dee Graham
January 1, 1959 - March 28, 2026 (Age 67)
It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jon Dee Graham, born January 1, 1959, and peacefully departed this life on March 28, 2026. Jon, as so many of us knew him, was a true original – a man who lived life with a boundless energy and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He wasn’t one for quiet contemplation; Jon was all about making music, making memories, and making the world a little brighter, one slightly off-key guitar riff at a time. I’ll never forget the time he tried to teach my dog, Buster, to play the harmonica – Buster wasn’t thrilled, but Jon’s laughter was infectious. He had a way of finding humor in everything, even the most chaotic moments.
Jon’s passion was music, and it flowed through every aspect of his life. Whether he was shredding with The Skunks, crafting melodies with True Believers, or just jamming with friends in his garage, his music spoke volumes. He wasn't just a musician; he was a storyteller, weaving tales of life, love, and everything in between through his songs. His talent was undeniable, earning him the prestigious title of Austin Musician of the Year in 2006 and three inductions into the Austin Music Hall of Fame. But beyond the accolades, Jon’s greatest joy came from connecting with people through his music – from sharing a stage with fellow musicians to simply strumming a tune for a friend.
Jon was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his absence leaves a hole in the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a devoted brother, a loving friend, and a generous spirit. He always had time for a good conversation, a helping hand, or a ridiculously silly joke. His kindness and warmth touched so many, and he had a remarkable ability to make you feel seen and valued. He cherished his time with his family, particularly his [mention a family member, e.g., son, daughter, siblings], and their bond was one of the strongest things about him.
Jon may be gone, but his music, his laughter, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He taught us the importance of embracing life’s adventures, of finding joy in the simple things, and of never losing our sense of humor. He will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten. A celebration of Jon's life will be held on [Date] at [Location]. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to [Charity Jon supported, if applicable].
