It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lala Alizadeh, born January 1, 1950, and peacefully departed this life on March 23, 2026. Lala was a truly remarkable woman, a brilliant scientist whose dedication to her field touched countless lives. But beyond her professional accomplishments, Lala was a warm, generous soul, a loving family member, and a friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. I’ll always remember her infectious laugh, the way her eyes sparkled when she talked about her research, and the comforting aroma of cardamom tea that always seemed to follow her. She had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, and that's a gift she shared so freely. Lala’s family was the cornerstone of her life. She cherished her parents, her siblings, and especially her children and grandchildren. Family gatherings were always filled with laughter, delicious food, and a sense of deep connection. She was the kind of grandmother who patiently helped with homework, offered wise advice, and always had a listening ear.
