Outside of work, he was a loyal UConn fan, a longtime volunteer at the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen, and the neighbor who always shoveled the sidewalk first after a snowstorm. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; two daughters; and three grandchildren.
