Born on January 1, 1958, Monte lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family and community. To know Monte was to know someone who approached everything with grit, determination, and a warm smile. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes – a true embodiment of integrity and strength. Many of us will fondly remember his booming laugh and the way his eyes would light up when talking about football, whether it was his time with the Washington Redskins or his coaching days at Arkansas–Pine Bluff. He wasn't just a player or a coach; he was an inspiration, a mentor, and a friend to so many. Monte’s career in the NFL was legendary. Sixteen seasons as a linebacker for the Redskins, culminating in three Super Bowl victories, is a testament to his skill and unwavering commitment to the game. But beyond the accolades, Monte cherished the camaraderie of his teammates and the feeling of contributing to something bigger than himself. He carried that same dedication into his coaching career, where he poured his heart and soul into developing young athletes at Arkansas–Pine Bluff.
