Narayan Bareth
January 1, 1958 - March 7, 2026 (Age 68)
It feels impossible to believe that Narayan is no longer with us. Losing him has left a hole in our lives that will be hard to fill. I’ll always remember Narayan's infectious laugh – a booming sound that could fill a room and instantly put everyone at ease. He had this incredible ability to make you feel seen and heard, no matter how busy he was. He was the kind of person who always had time for a thoughtful conversation, a listening ear, and a genuinely kind word. I’ll cherish the memory of him patiently explaining complex political matters to me, always with a twinkle in his eye and a refreshingly honest perspective. He wasn't afraid to challenge the status quo, but he always did so with respect and a genuine desire to understand.
Narayan wasn’t just a brilliant mind; he was a deeply loving and devoted family man. He was the anchor of our family, always there with unwavering support and a warm embrace. His love for his family was boundless, and he poured so much of himself into ensuring we all felt cherished and secure. He was a fantastic storyteller, especially when recounting his adventures as a journalist. He’d weave fascinating tales of reporting from the field, always emphasizing the importance of truth and integrity – values he held so dear. He found joy in simple things: a good book, a long walk in the hills, and spending time with loved ones. He was passionate about education and dedicated much of his life to mentoring aspiring journalists, sharing his knowledge and experience with countless students.
His career as a journalist and political analyst was truly remarkable. To have served as the State Information Commissioner of Rajasthan is an incredible achievement, and he approached it with the same dedication and thoughtfulness he brought to everything he did. He dedicated his life to seeking the truth and holding power accountable, and that commitment will be deeply missed. Narayan's impact extended far beyond his professional life; he was a pillar of our community, a source of inspiration, and a true friend to so many. He always encouraged us to strive for a better world, to speak up for what’s right, and to never lose our sense of curiosity and wonder.
Though we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life Narayan lived. He touched so many lives with his kindness, his wisdom, and his unwavering spirit. He taught us the importance of integrity, empathy, and the power of a well-told story. He will be profoundly missed, but his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched and the values he instilled in us. Rest in peace, dear Narayan. You will never be forgotten.
