Raza Kazim
January 1, 1930 - April 16, 2026 (Age 96)
Raza Kazim,1930–2026, was a man who carried the world in his laughter and the stars in his eyes. I’ll never forget the time we sat under the banyan tree in his garden, debating the ethics of free will while he chipped away at a broken watch with a pocketknife. “Time’s just a story we tell ourselves,” he’d say, his thick Urdu accent softening the weight of his words. He had that way of making philosophy feel like a dance, not a lecture—always inviting you to join, even if you stumbled over the steps. His home was a haven of warmth, where his wife, Fatima, would serve cardamom chai as he regaled his children with tales of his youth, his voice cracking with the joy of recounting them. Raza loved fiercely, whether through the quiet hours he spent teaching his granddaughter to read or the way he’d rally neighbors to plant trees in the dusty lots of their Islamabad neighborhood.
