Robert "Bob" Ellingson

Robert "Bob" Ellingson, 84, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on February 2, 2026. A retired Coast Guard chief and Lake Superior enthusiast, Bob spent his life near the water he loved. He was a familiar face on the Lakewalk, a volunteer at the Great Lakes Aquarium, and a devoted grandfather who never missed a ship passing under the Aerial Lift Bridge. Bob is survived by his wife, Elaine; sons Chris and Peter; and seven grandchildren who inherited his curiosity and warmth.
