Robert James "Bob" Wilson

Robert James "Bob" Wilson, 70, of Denver, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2026. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Bob moved to Colorado in 1980 and fell in love with the mountains. An avid skier, hiker, and photographer, he spent every free moment exploring the Rockies. Bob served 30 years as a firefighter with Denver Fire Department, retiring as Captain in 2020. He was known for his bravery, leadership, and the mentorship he provided to younger firefighters. He is survived by his wife Sarah; children Michael and Jennifer; four grandchildren; his sister Patricia; and his beloved golden retriever, Rocky. A memorial service will be held at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on February 1st at 10 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colorado Wildland Firefighter Foundation.
