Robert White (tenor)|Robert White

January 1, 1937 - March 19, 2026 (Age 89)

It’s hard to believe we’re saying goodbye to Robert White. Our beloved Bob, a man whose voice could fill a concert hall and whose laughter could fill a room, passed away peacefully on March 19th, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born on January 1st, 1937, and lived a life brimming with music, love, and a quiet, unassuming joy that touched everyone he met. Most people knew him as Robert White, the American tenor, and his talent graced stages across the country, captivating audiences with his powerful and emotive performances. But to us, he was simply Dad, Grandpa, Uncle Bob, and a dear, dear friend. I’ll always remember Dad’s quirky habit of humming opera arias while he was gardening. He’d be wrestling with a stubborn rose bush, belting out a high note, completely oblivious to how ridiculous he looked – and utterly content. That was Bob in a nutshell: passionate about the things he loved, unapologetically himself, and always finding a little bit of beauty in the everyday. He adored his family fiercely. Mom, bless her heart, was his rock and his biggest fan, and their love story was one for the ages. He cherished his children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, always ready with a silly joke, a warm hug, or a piece of advice delivered with that gentle twinkle in his eye. Family dinners at his house were legendary – filled with laughter, good food, and, of course, impromptu singalongs. Beyond his singing, Bob was a devoted birdwatcher, a surprisingly skilled woodworker (his birdhouses were particularly charming!), and a lifelong learner. He devoured books on history and science, and he always had a fascinating story to share. He wasn’t one for grand gestures or seeking the spotlight; his impact came from the quiet consistency of his kindness, his unwavering support, and his ability to make you feel seen and valued. He had a way of listening that made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. We’ll miss his booming laugh, his terrible puns, and the way he could always make us smile, even on the toughest days. The world feels a little quieter without his voice, but the music he shared, and the love he gave, will resonate in our hearts forever. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and a reminder to find joy in the simple things. Rest in peace, dear Bob. You were truly one of a kind.
