Rondale Moore

Rondale DaSean Moore, the dynamic NFL wide receiver and former consensus All-American at Purdue University, passed away on February 21, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana. He was 25 years old. Born on June 9, 2000, in New Albany, Indiana, Moore grew up on the same block as future NBA player Romeo Langford. The two played basketball together through high school, and Moore was part of the 2016 Indiana 4A State basketball championship team at New Albany High School. He later transferred to Trinity High School in Louisville, Kentucky, where he helped lead the football team to a perfect 15-0 season and the 2017 Kentucky 6A state championship. Moore burst onto the national college football scene as a freshman at Purdue University in 2018. His explosive playmaking ability earned him the Paul Hornung Award as the nations most versatile player, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year award, and consensus All-American honors. He was named Big Ten Receiver of the Year, an extraordinary achievement for a freshman. The Arizona Cardinals selected Moore in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 49th overall pick. He spent three seasons with the Cardinals from 2021 to 2023, recording 135 receptions for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns during his NFL career. Known for his electric speed and ability to create after the catch, Moore was one of the most exciting young players in the league. After his time with the Cardinals, Moore played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 and signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2025, though preseason injuries limited his playing time with both teams. Moore was remembered by teammates, coaches, and fans as an electrifying talent on the field and a warm, caring person off it. His impact on the Purdue football program, where he remains one of the most decorated freshmen in Big Ten history, will be remembered for generations.
