Saleh Mohammadi
January 1, 2007 - March 20, 2026 (Age 19)
It’s hard to believe I’m writing this, trying to capture a life so full of promise in just a few words. Saleh Mohammadi, born January 1st, 2007, left us far too soon on March 20th, 2026. Even at 19, he packed more life, more passion, and more heart into his years than most do in a lifetime. I remember when he was little, always tumbling, always *moving*. It wasn’t long before that energy focused into wrestling, and he just…bloomed. He wasn’t just strong, he was graceful, strategic, and utterly dedicated. He lived and breathed wrestling, and to see him compete, representing Iran on the national team, filled our family with such immense pride.
Saleh wasn’t just an athlete, though. He had this incredible, infectious laugh that could light up a room. He was the one who always remembered your birthday, the one who’d offer to help with anything, no matter how small. He adored his family – his mother, his father, and his younger sister, Layla, were his world. He’d spend hours teasing Layla, then fiercely defending her from anyone who dared to upset her. He was a quiet protector, always putting others before himself. He loved spending his free time sketching, surprisingly delicate drawings for someone so physically powerful, and he had a real knack for finding beauty in everyday things.
He believed so strongly in fairness and justice, and it broke his heart to see suffering around him. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, even when it was difficult, and he stood up for what he believed in with a courage that was truly inspiring. The recent protests in Iran meant everything to him, and he felt compelled to add his voice, his strength, to the call for a better future. It’s a testament to his character that he remained steadfast in his convictions, even in the face of unimaginable adversity.
Saleh’s life was tragically cut short, a loss that leaves a hole in all our hearts. He was a son, a brother, a friend, an athlete, and a beacon of hope. He may be gone, but his spirit – his kindness, his courage, his unwavering belief in a better world – will live on in all who knew and loved him. We will never forget him.
