Savino Rebek

January 1, 1941 - May 2, 2026 (Age 85)

Savino Rebek was a man of incredible spirit and heart. We’ll never forget the way he lit up the rows at the 1960 Olympics, his determination shining through every stroke. His passion for life was as deep as the Mediterranean, and he carried that same fire into every room he entered. When he wasn’t on the water, you could always find him tending to his garden or sharing stories with family, always bringing a smile to everyone around him. His love for people was boundless, and he always knew just how to make someone feel seen and valued. Savino had a wonderful family—his parents were always there, supporting him through every challenge. His siblings and children cherished the time he spent with them, whether it was a lazy Sunday afternoon or a lively game of cards. He was the kind of person who made memories with his words and his presence. His hobbies were simple but rich: he loved reading classics, playing the guitar, and exploring the countryside with his friends. Those were the moments that truly defined his joy in life. His impact went beyond just his achievements; he was a pillar of kindness in the community. Everyone remembered the way he listened, the way he lifted others, and the way he turned ordinary days into something special. Savino would always say you should live with purpose and love, and we were blessed to know him. He may have passed away, but his legacy lives on in the smiles and stories of those who knew him. We’ll always carry Savino’s light in our hearts, and in the memories we cherish. May he rest in peace, knowing he left the world a little brighter.
