Selemani Bungara

It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we share the passing of Selemani Bungara, a man whose spirit shone brightly for 64 years. Born on January 1st, 1962, Selemani left us on March 30th, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, after a courageous battle with kidney failure. Though his physical journey has ended, the warmth and impact he had on all of us will remain forever etched in our memories. Selemani was a man of unwavering dedication, first to his family and then to his country. As a dedicated Member of Parliament for the Kilwa South constituency from 2010 to 2020, he tirelessly championed the needs of his people. Beyond the political arena, Selemani possessed a gentle soul and a wonderful sense of humor. I’ll always remember his infectious laugh and his ability to find light even in the most challenging situations. He had a knack for making everyone feel seen and valued, a quality that made him a beloved friend and respected colleague. He loved spending time with his family, sharing stories, and offering guidance with a patient ear. His family was his rock, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
