It’s with a heavy heart, yet filled with so much gratitude for a life so fully lived, that we announce the passing of Stasys Baranauskas on March 2nd, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on January 1st, 1963, Stasys leaves behind a legacy of passion, dedication, and unwavering warmth that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. To many, he was a familiar name on the football field, a talented midfielder who proudly represented Lithuania, earning 14 caps and scoring a memorable goal. But to those of us who loved him, he was simply Stasys – a kind, generous, and endlessly entertaining man. I’ll always cherish the memories of Stasys’ infectious laughter and his competitive spirit, whether he was on the pitch or engaged in one of his many hobbies. He poured his heart into the game, always striving for excellence, but never forgetting the importance of camaraderie and good sportsmanship. He was a devoted and cherished his family above all else. He always made time for those he loved, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, and a comforting presence. Stasys’ impact extended far beyond the football field and his immediate family. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life, fostering friendships and creating a sense of community wherever he went. He was a true role model, demonstrating the importance of hard work, perseverance, and integrity. He inspired so many with his quiet strength and unwavering optimism. He always had time for a kind word, a warm smile, and a genuine interest in others. The world feels a little dimmer without Stasys’ light. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former teammates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us in person, his spirit will live on in the countless memories he created and the positive influence he had on so many lives.
