Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas

Our beloved Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and faith. Born on September 5, 1931, Uncle Naquib—as we all lovingly called him—was more than just a renowned philosopher; he was the heart of our family, the gentle storyteller at every gathering, and the wise voice we turned to in times of joy and uncertainty. Those who knew him best remember his warm smile that could light up any room and his remarkable ability to make everyone feel heard and valued. Whether he was sharing stories from his childhood in Malaysia or discussing his latest philosophical insights, Uncle Naquib had a way of making complex ideas feel accessible and meaningful.
