Teresa M. Chavez, 72, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away on February 9, 2026. A lifelong artist and community advocate, Teresa restored historic adobe homes and helped organize neighborhood arts festivals throughout her career.
She was a devoted mother, a patient teacher to young painters, and a joyful presence at the Santa Fe Farmers Market. Teresa is survived by her husband, Luis; sons Mateo and Daniel; and a circle of friends who called her their creative compass.
