Lt. Colonel Thomas Bradley Hayes

Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Bradley Hayes, USA (Ret.), 77, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away on January 19, 2026. Born on Independence Day 1948, Thomas dedicated his life to service. He served 30 years in the United States Army, including tours in Vietnam, Desert Storm, and peacekeeping missions around the world. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and numerous other commendations. After retirement, Thomas worked as a history teacher at Arlington High School, where he inspired students with firsthand accounts of courage, sacrifice, and leadership. He is survived by his wife Carol; children Thomas Jr., Michael, and Amanda; six grandchildren; and his brothers Richard and Daniel. Full military honors will be rendered at Arlington National Cemetery on February 3rd. The family requests donations to Wounded Warrior Project in lieu of flowers.
