Margaret Rose Thompson

Margaret Rose Thompson, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. Born June 12, 1942, in Savannah, Georgia, Margaret was a woman of grace, strength, and boundless compassion. She dedicated her life to teaching, inspiring three generations of students as an elementary school teacher for 42 years. Margaret was known for her beautiful garden, her love of Southern cooking, and her unwavering faith. She was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church, where she volunteered in the children's ministry and sang in the choir for over 50 years. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William; three children, Elizabeth, Robert, and Catherine; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Grace Episcopal Church on January 22nd at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charleston Literacy Council.
